Here is Tasmania in one of Germany’s major papers. All it takes is someone to translate this attachment into Aussie language; however the people we would need to convince that they (the Gunnerments) will not get away with this stupid project, are not listening. They may call this Un-Australian or Anti-Australian or Treason or Terrorism or Misinformation or just Green Spin… They made a “tough” decision, against their own community and they are digging their heads in sand like the Ostriches… For how long? Who knows? Time will tell! The Berlin Wall did not lasted the test of time, nor will this stupid outdated oversized mill project! A friend wrote:
I have just returned form a business trip to Germany and there has been much written there about the Gunn’s pulp mill —all negative. I have brought back with me an article written in Die Welt (which is a large, mainstream newspaper, similar to the Age) and they write about the damage this will not only do to the tourist industry in Tasmania from Germany but also to all of Australia. This will indeed tarnish our image. I would like this article to be out there for all to see; there’s an idea here that the rest of the world wouldn’t bother about what happens here. …
