Now We the People (Tasmania) will be conducting a seminar on the topic:
“WATER: policy needs and the future” on Saturday 17 November 2007 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm at the Republic Bar, 299 Elizabeth Street North Hobart.
Speakers will be Dr David Leaman and Dr Patricia Ranald.
Dr David Leaman is an experienced water scientist and his presentation, “Budgets and Audits” will indicate what we need to do (and how to do it) to manage available water resources in a time of change so as to sustain both our economy and our environment.
Dr Pat Ranald’s presentation, “Water: human right or traded commodity?”
will be focussed on the global struggles over privatisation of water services and the importance of resisting attempts to privatise water here.
