The takeover of Tasmania

The foundation of democracy: the will of the public, fair governance and due process become obsolete in this degrading push for power and money for a very small elite who have managed to bring the ‘government’ and the ‘opposition’ into the same tent.

SUE Neales story (Mercury) on Saturday July 14, says it all about the type of people who are running politics and forestry in this state – remember the bullying phone call to the CSIRO about Mr Raverty in the same vein? http://www.news.com.au/mercury/story/0,22884,22071525-3462,00.html

If a group moved into Tasmania and started acting in this way there would be an outcry.

Instead half a dozen ‘old Tasmanian families’ are running this state, backed up by the CFMEU who obey their masters without question in return for a few miserable low-paying jobs – meanwhile the masters are living in luxury while the workers sell out their state and its diversity for a transitory pittance.

Ex-unionists in government splash federal gst funds around on advertising and shonky ‘process’ for these ‘old families’- while kids can’t access drug-addiction treatment and families can’t access low-cost housing.

The foundation of democracy: the will of the public, fair governance and due process become obsolete in this degrading push for power and money for a very small elite who have managed to bring the ‘government’ and the ‘opposition’ into the same tent.

That never-ending string of male robots in striped shirts called Hodgpeople lead the Liberal Party along for the ride, silently, congratulating themselves that in return for their silence, the party can keep the corporate donations to the campaign, and the corporate conglomerate running the state will pat them on the head and show their pleasure should the Liberals ever return to power.

Civil war becomes obsolete when governments and corporations can merge in order to take the common wealth of the people, whilst enacting big-brother legislation in order to instill fear, and quieten the voices of the people. Perhaps our governments learnt something from the ‘dictators’ they are fighting in the ‘war on terror’?

Comments from You Tube about this modern-day crushing of democracy – which is as deadly to a society as civil war:

A worker’s song about what happens to a USA town when globalised markets cause a paper mill to close down (rather difficult to hear the words).
In Tasmania, the public will be the dummies picking up the tab because of our economically-challenged government’s deal to shield the company from price fluctuations, transferring much of the risk to the public purse:

And the next generation of young Lib/Labs coming along – note the uniform of the young Libs – soon to be replaced with striped shirts and moleskins. There’s very little to be seen of the young Labs whose usual route is using workers’ union subs to climb up the union ladders into power, when they promptly move to blend with the the other half, the Libs, doing deals with corporations.
