One recurring theme has been that it’s illegal to cross double white lines. The only relevant exception I know of is for oversize vehicles operating under a permit. Obviously large vehicles have no option but to cross the lines on some corners but I’ve always understood that you are very much on your own on this one; hit someone and you’re totally in the wrong and technically, even if you don’t hit someone you could be booked every time that wheel goes over the lines.
