Questions for the next council meeting …

Having perused Council’s website, our members have the following questions on notice to put to Council regarding expenditure items:

1. Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery

A $6.23M cost over 10 years of which $600,000 is scheduled for expenditure in 2007-2008.

Can we know what this total expenditure stream will provide and what constitute the works proposed in the immediate expenditure?

2. Parks and Gardens

A $6.67 cost over 10 years of which, it would appear the following will be spent in 2007-8:

Cataract Gorge $385,00
Myrtle Park Visitor Facilities $118,000
Youngtown Oval $100,000
NTCA lighting $150,000

Can we know what this total expenditure stream will provide and what constitute the works proposed in the immediate expenditure?

Does this $6.67M include the $460,000 for Aurora Stadium, below?

Are some of these included in Sporting Grounds of $3.80M over 10 years?

3. Sporting Grounds

A $3.8M cost over 10 years.

Can we know what this total expenditure stream will provide and what constitute the works proposed in the immediate expenditure?

What, precisely, is the $200,000 grant to cover?

4. Aurora Stadium

A $460,000 expenditure in 2007-8.

Can we know what this is for?

Is there further expenditure provided for in the $3.8m for sporting grounds or in the $6.67M for Parks and Gardens, or both?

5. CBD Public Toilets

A $300,000 expenditure in 2007-8 of a total of $500,000.

Can we know just where these facilities will be located and what the facilities will constitute?

6. Albert Hall

A $1.44M cost over 10 years of which $317,000 is scheduled for expenditure in 2007-8.

Can we know what this total expenditure stream will provide and what constitute the works proposed in the immediate expenditure?

7. Princess Theatre and Earls Art Centre

A $2.58M cost over 10 years of which $547,000 is scheduled for expenditure in 2007-8.

Can we know what this total expenditure stream will provide and what constitute the works proposed in the immediate expenditure?

If you require these questions on notice to be formally read out at the meeting we are happy to oblige, providing you can advise us, preferably by email, sufficiently in advance of the meeting of that requirement.

Our members look forward to your responses

Yours sincerely,

John Henshaw
