There was no dissent … A Labor politician said the party did not know what Mr Martin’s problem was

The PLP met for an hour and unanimously supported the new assessment process that will hand the final say on the mill to Parliament. A vote was not necessary because there was no dissent. Mr Martin’s absence was noted and it was made clear that he would be expected to support the caucus position. Mr Martin will have to vote on the Pulp Mill Assessment Bill 2007 as early as next week and there is speculation he is considering crossing the floor. A Labor politician said the party did not know what Mr Martin’s problem was.
