When David Edwards stood for President of the Battery Point Sullivans’ Cove Community Association’s at its AGM last October he said he would be here to do the job, scotching murmurs that he intended moving up the east coast.
On 1 January 2007 he did move. Right up the coast. To Sydney.
The BPSCCA’s legal status is being investigated by the Hobart City Council. People who paid their dues in the last quarter of 2006 are still waiting for a receipt confirming membership. Others still feel disenfranchised by the way the AGM was conducted.
Who is president of the now reduced BPSCCA committee?
Is it Ken Hosking? He was elected Vice President at the AGM. He also holds that position with Friends of the Foreshore which opposes built development there — apart from private jetties.
The BPSCCA’s first committee meeting for the year will take place tomorrow (Tuesday 6 February) at 7.30pm in the Community Hall on the corner of Hampden Rd and Francis St. in Battery Point.
Will clarification of these issues follow?
