EXCLUSIVE Brethren members have been linked to a major phone-canvassing campaign to help the State Liberal Party during the last election. A source has revealed details about a strategy involving Brethren members making calls on behalf of the Liberal Party or candidates to gather support during the campaign. The source says the Brethren members were given “suggested” points or even “scripts” to guide their canvassing and political comment. “We are talking about thousands of calls across the State,” the source said. “We understand they (the Brethren) worked as a group.”
