Those renovations: Lennon not happy

Posted on

Tasmanian Times

At the start of this year’s state election campaign Tasmanian Times ran the story no Tasmanian media was willing to publish.
We revealed that Premier Paul Lennon’s house had been renovated by a fully-owned subsidiary of Gunns Ltd.

Although Premier Lennon has tried hard to dismiss the issue of the renovations by saying it is an attack on his family, other facts have since come to light.

We have now been told the Premier himself approached Hinman, Wright and Manser to undertake the renovations. Hinman Wright and Manser are large commercial builders, not domestic renovators.

Was there a written quotation? If there was surely the Tasmanian public is entitled to see it. Did Mr Lennon approach other builders for comparable quotes.

Now, we have all been told the remarkable story that Mr Lennon is not happy with the work done by Hinman, Wright and Manser. Why does the Chairman of Gunns feel it necessary to seek to have this story put on the public record?
