www.buyselltrade.com.au today received the Hobart City Council’s ‘Dr Edward Hall Environment Award’ in the small business category for facilitating reuse and recycling within the Tasmanian community by providing free online classified advertising.

The website is user friendly allows and allows users to advertise, with photographs, completely free of charge. The ads remain on the site for up to 90 days and can be edited or deleted by the user who simply logs in using the password they chose when registering. Some ads are automatically rejected because they contain prohibited words and each morning the site is checked to make sure that there are no irrelevant ‘spam ads’ cluttering it up. Users can choose how to be contacted and can opt to remain completely anonymous or post their phone number and/or email address if they want to. Any user information is kept completely confidential.

Unlike the big international commercial auction sites like eBay this site is absolutly free, has no paid advertising and operates specifically for use by the Tasmanian community to facilitate local reuse and recycling of everyday items. The more it’s used the better it’ll get.
