BONUSES have helped several of the chief executives of Tasmanian stock exchange listed companies to substantial increases in the latest financial year. Analysis of 2006 annual reports also show that a number of Tasmanian executives received pay rises. Gunns Ltd executive chairman John Gay moved closer to a $1million a year salary in 2006 despite the slump in the firm’s share prices. Mr Gay, 63, received a total package of $967,393, up from $731,175 last year. The $236,000 increase was offset by a loss in the value in Mr Gay’s shares.
