So, that’s how …
By Aphrodite Drinkwater
There’s been some surprise that Gunns Ltd, has sold a 455 hectare property near Bagdad to Tasmanian Land Conservancy at a reduced price, under a partnership deal between the two and the Southern Midlands Council (plus some Federal funds).
The sale of Gunns’ Flat Rock Reserve links the Chauncy Vale Wildlife Sanctuary and the Alpha Pinnacle Area, creating a protected reserve of 1200 hectares.
Bacchus No-Smoke tells me there is a bit more to this deal than meets the eye.
Actually, he said it’s a plain as the nose on your face … compare Gunns’ boss John Gay’s face with that of Southern Midlands mayor Tony Bisdee.
Pretty close to dead ringers!
Which is not surprising, because their mums are sisters.
Of course, there are cousins and cousins, but Bacchus tells me these two are mates and the deal was a win-win for both blokes.
