A TOP doctor has warned the cancer unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital will “completely collapse” because of “catastrophic” budget cuts. In a leaked email to other specialists, Ray Lowenthal said RHH chief executive John Menzies had said there would be no new doctor positions.

This contradicts Health Minister Lara Giddings’ repeated claim there was no recruitment freeze and the State Government would honour its election promises.
