So, there is a World’s Best Practice … and the Gunns share price plummets
By Pete Godfrey
So there is a new World’s Best Practice that we haven’t been told about.
And the Gunns share price …
SO A new spanner has been thrown in the works of the pulp mill for Tamar.
Protavia are building two pulp mills, one in Victora at Heywood and one in SA at Penola.
They will use mechanical pulping methods and will extract 50% pulp from the logs fed in. A lot better than our 25% mill. They will have zero liquid emissions.
Yep you read it. And it will be totally chlorine free.
So there is a new World’s Best Practice that we haven’t been told about.
I always thought that Tasmania was a very small world, but now it is proven.
You can download an artilce on the mill by googling Heywood Mill and the Protavia site will come up:

So the bar has been set much higher.
I suggest that those of you who love Tasmania get on the phone, write , and generally agitate on this one.
Will our old second hand technology mill be viable now?

And:
Investor confidence in Gunns is vital to the viability of the planned pulp mill. A rough analysis indicates that there has been significant fluctuation in the company’s share price — from an all-time high in 2004 of $4.80 to a low last October of $2.71.
