Where else, in the world

I would like to add the following content and images to your website, knowing that you might slightly alter things.

Date of Images Taken: 25 April 06. These images where taken from differing locations in Launceston facing in an easterly direction. The first three images were not more than 20 km from Launceston, whilst the 4th image was over the ranges towards the north east of Tasmania, near the coast.

Infact the posted satilite image of Tasmania showing the fires gives the exact locations (Here).

The large fire near Launceston, first three images. The fire directly north, north east of the Launceston fires, the 4th image.

I am amazed and feel that I have gone back in time, at the forestry practices here in Tasmania.

Yes, yes, yes, Forestry Tasmania will say “this is how nature does it”, and “we do it under the banner of world best practice”. I say hogwash! I say that they take us for idiots! I say they have no consideration for the Tasmanian community. I say they are steered by the “rape and pillage” motto.

I say that private industry calls the shots in how they will use our resources. And I say that we are asleep with the attitude, “she’ll be right mate”!

Are we becoming dumb to the facts? What we are telling the world is not what is being practiced here in this state.

I have heard many uplifting statements about Tasmania when I was on the mainland, but now that I live here, most of those statements are false or outright lies. Is that what we want to say to the world, that we are hypocrites! Or even worse, a state of America!

The likes of the “mightier than thou” industries are poisoning Tasmania’s wild life, Tasmania’s waterways (which follows on in poisoning you, me and our children), Tasmania’s air, and Tasmania’s image.

We are sitting on natural resources, that if properly managed, can be a magnet for the world!

Where is Tasmania’s vision. What are we leaving behind for the generations to follow? Why don’t we make a true stand and show what a small state of Australia can do!

Why don’t we become the leaders rather than the follower? Why don’t we make a stance and hold true the government(s) on its promises! Why don’t we invest in sustainable practices?

The following images are yet further evidence of what the true agenda is! Where in nature do you see intense fires like these, so intense you have smoke clouds forming like mushroom clouds imitating a nuclear bomb cloud.

I say that Tasmania is the only country, other than third world countries, that ensue these world best practices.
