Code for help
TASMANIANS for Refugees has been involved in assisting the family from El Salvador (Vanessa Ceren, her two daughters, her partner Nestor Rodriguez and their young son) who were facing deportation following the rejection of their RRT appeal.
The family’s migration agent is currently working on a judicial appeal and an appeal to the Minister for Immigration and the family will be able to stay in Tasmania while these appeals are considered.
An organising committee, Friends of the Cerens has also met to plan some fundraising events to assist with the costs of preparing these appeals and any other costs which might arise during or following these appeals.
An account for the fundraising appeal has been set up — it is called the Anglicare Tasmania Ceren Family Appeal and donations can be made at any branch of the National Australia Bank or Anglicare offices. We have also arranged a fundraising cinema night:
