The Tasmanian Greens have accused the timber company Gunns of manipulating the State Government. Greens leader Peg Putt says Gunns chief John Gay should have told Premier David Bartlett last week of the company’s plans to close one of its two sawmills in Scottsdale. The two met on Friday to discuss Gunns’s request for an extension to a $15 million sovereign risk agreement for its planned pulp mill. Read more here
