Southern Tasmania and the East Coast are experiencing an extraordinary weather event and high levels of rainfall.

TasWater is working with Tasmania Police, Councils and the SES as part of the Southern Regional Emergency Management Committee.

We are experiencing a high volume of calls.

While the event is ongoing, TasWater is focused on the safety of the public and our staff and are only able to respond to the most urgent incidents.

People are reminded that any flood waters may contain sewage and to avoid contact for health and safety reasons and to follow the safety advice distributed by the SES in relation to flood hazards.

Once the weather has improved sufficiently, TasWater crews can assess the full impacts of the event.
