Dear Friend …

I am delighted to announce that we have reached 1000 members in NSW!

Thank you to everyone involved!

We were always privately hoping to achieve ‘Project 1000’ in order to give us a comfortable buffer (above the minimum requirement of 750 members) for the next stage of NSW registration…

We will be lodging our application with the NSW Electoral Commission next week. They will do a preliminary check of our application, including matching our members to the electoral roll. If all is in order, they will then write to a sample (20 per cent) of our 1000 members and ask for a written reply to confirm your membership. Look out for this in November if you are a NSW member. We need a minimum of 150 people (20 per cent of 750) to write back and confirm membership, in order to achieve registration and contest the next NSW election in March 2019.

NB: Registration must be achieved over 12 months ahead in NSW in order to contest the 2019 election.

NSW members will receive further information on the audit process in coming weeks.

Help your State register

Stand by for a big push in Victoria in the new year, so that we can contest the November 2018 State election.

Do you want to help achieve registration in your state? Join here – http://www.sustainableaustralia.org.au/join?utm_campaign=project_1000&utm_medium=email&utm_source=votesustainable – to help build up the required numbers.

Our small (part-time) team of Hana, Debbie and Max is currently working through hundreds of non-NSW membership applications…

Thanks for your ongoing patience and support as we work through the backlog.

Kind regards,

William Bourke
