The tango dance la “Cumparsita” will be part of the opening night of LAFF this Friday 22 of September at 6pm in the Stanley Burbury Theatre of UTAS.

The opening night in Hobart will showcase a film from Uruguay, which has received global recognition in the United States, Cuba and Uruguay. The night will start at 6:00pm, with drinks, finger food and music, followed by a 7pm screening of “Promenade women”.

Organised by the Latin American Embassies in Canberra, the festival will be held in Hobart from 22 to 30 September at the Stanley Burbury Theatre at the University of Tasmania.

The film festival is open to the public and the entire program is FREE of charge. All films will be subtitled in English.

The countries represented in this festival include Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Guatemala.
