I’m pleased to welcome Ian Rankine, CEO of Innkeepers Tasmania, to the Tourism Tasmania Board.
Mr Rankine is a highly skilled and respected member of Tasmania’s tourism industry with extensive connections and experience in the sector.
He has been nominated by the Tourism Industry Council to Tasmania to replace industry stalwart Simon Currant who has retired from the Board after more than 16 years.
James Cretan has been reappointed as Chair of the Tourism Tasmania Board for a second term and current directors Rebecca King and Michelle Cox have been reappointed for a further two and three years respectively. They join existing members Brett Torossi and Kate Vale.
I thank Simon Currant for his commitment to the development of our visitor economy and his highly valued contribution to the Board.
Tasmania is on track to reach its T21 Visitor Economy Strategy goals by 2020, and the skills and experience of the Board will ensure valuable leadership and strategic direction as we work towards achieving these goals.
