WYNYARD CARE CENTRE STAFF WILL ESCALATE INDUSTRIAL ACTION IN RESPONSE TO THEIR EMPLOYER’S CONTINUED REFUSAL TO COME TO THE TABLE.
Workers at Wynyard Care Centre commenced Protected Industrial Action in April 2017 after resoundingly voting against two sub-standard offers from management.
Since launching their industrial action Wynyard Care workers have implemented various workplace bans, distributed information about management’s unreasonable offer to the entirety of Wynyard, and taken their concerns to Tasmanian politicians.
After meeting with a delegation of HACSU members, Senator Helen Polley (Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Aged Care) visited the facility on 1 August to hear further concerns from workers.
NSW-based Synovum Care Managing Director, Natasha Chadwick, still refuses to come to the negotiating table or meet with employees.
Wynyard Care workers feel they have little choice given management’s approach but to escalate their industrial campaign and will be stopping work at 12:30pm today.
