Legal team for Rob Messenger, a former Chief of Staff for influential Tasmanian independent politician, Senator Lambie will consider whether Australian Prime Minister Turnbull and other Liberal government ministers may be called to give evidence during an unlawful dismissal claim before the Federal Court.

“My solicitor Michelle Dawson from Madgwicks law firm will consider whether, because of the leak to the media on the 2nd of June 2017 of my confidential correspondence – that was shared with the Prime Minister and other politicians – the Prime Minister and those politicians should be subpoenaed – and asked in the Federal Court, under oath – of their knowledge in relation to the leak of that correspondence.

My solicitor has also informed me that the Federal Court today, has made an order (attachment 1) that temporarily restricts the publication of my Statement of Claim for unlawful dismissal – to persons other than parties in my proceedings. This practically means that even though my matter is officially before Federal court – no media or public will have access to my documents.

My wife and I are very grateful for this privacy and consideration from the Federal court – and call on Australian politicians to treat our confidential documents with greater respect and care, than they have in the past.” said Mr Messenger.

Earlier this week Mr Messenger released a YouTube video: https://youtu.be/7YTfmmW0Yq8 which details the harm that has been caused to his family since the illegal leak of their confidential letter to the media – and expresses serious concern with the manner in which the Australian Federal Police has chosen to investigate his formal complaints against the Prime Minister’s department and other Australian government agencies.
