Government should apply Mersey approach to TT Line funding

 Government should treat the TT Line funds like the money for the Mersey
 Any suggestion Labor would spend the money on anything else is a lie
 Will the Government amend the TT Line legislation?

The Liberal Government should apply the same approach to the money earmarked for the TT Line as it is for the Mersey Hospital funding.

“Any suggestion Labor would ever spend money for the Mersey on anything else is ridiculous and simply a lie,” Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said.

“Labor supports the Government’s proposal to allow TASCORP to invest the funding for the Mersey and provide dividends back to government.

“If the Government was genuine, it would apply the same rules to the money earmarked for replacing the two TT Line ships.

“The Treasurer raided $80 million from TT Line to make his own budget bottom line look better.

“If the Liberals don’t amend the legislation for the TT-Line funds which is still before the parliament, it’ll be clear they’re only interested in manufacturing a dodgy surplus.

“Why wouldn’t the Government apply the same approach to the TT Line funds?”
