After receiving thousands of emails from supporters like you, Australian Ethical Investments have publicly announced that they have sold their holdings in Tassal. The largest investment group in Australia went public at lunchtime today on social media – where they announced that they have sold all Tassal shares because of their concerns that Tassal’s practices are unsustainable.

Australian Ethical’s announcement is a clear warning to Tassal that they need to stop falsely marketing their salmon as sustainable. And the heat is now on the global environment group WWF to act – they need to follow Australian Ethical Investment’s leadership and stop taking up to half a million dollars a year from Tassal.
Thank you so much for standing up for our oceans – investment funds don’t make changes like this unless people raise their voice about injustice.
Now it has become near-impossible for WWF to maintain their exclusive financial contract with Tassal. With investment funds calling out Tassal’s practices, WWF needs to make the long-overdue decision to stop supporting Tassal. This is a company that has turned its largest lease in Macquarie Harbour into a dead zone, where salmon experience sub-lethal and lethal stresses and damage has spread into a World Heritage Area.
