Moonah Arts Centre has an exciting line up of holiday activities planned in April 2017!
Little Big Shots will be screening films for kids at MAC on Thursdays during the holidays. Little Big Shots is Australia’s largest annual touring children’s film festival and features the best in local and international children’s shorts, animations, documentaries and, amazingly, child-produced films! Films for 2+ year olds at 10am, and films for 7+ year olds at 12noon, $8/session.
Run away with the circus in MAC’s Circus Skills workshop! Have a ‘Big Top’ full of fun at this two-day workshop. Students will learn a broad range of circus skills including manipulation (juggling, diablo, poi etc.), aerials (tissu), acro balance, slapstick and clowning. Suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners through to experienced students, ages 7 – 14, $40.
Join the Story Island team and shine the spotlight on a place that many of us encounter every day – the Brooker Highway! Discover the true stories unearthed by the Story Island Project about life around the highway, then work with the team to come up with your own creative responses. Ages 8 – 14. This is a free workshop but bookings are essential.
Get creative and experiment with different materials and processes in Getting Abstract. We will work with painting, printmaking, sculpture, drawing and wearable art in this fun, mixed media workshop. Think outside the box, challenge yourself and find your style! Ages 6 – 12, $20.
Produce and star in an original short film to be broadcast on YouTube in Script to Screen – Guerrilla Filmmaking! Learn how to use the equipment, write and develop scripts for the screen, as well as top tips on acting, pre-production and production with award-winning film director Lucien Simon in this three day workshop. Ages 9 – 14, $150.
