Super funds manage billions of dollars of Tasmanians’ money, but where does it go and should more be spent locally?

A push to use Tasmanian superannuation funds to get large developments off the ground is gaining momentum.

Tasmania’s Labor Opposition believes it is the answer to the state’s water and sewerage woes, an idea that has been rubbished by the Government.

But prominent architect Robert Morris-Nunn said there was merit in funding Tasmanian projects that would be game-changers economically and socially.

Mr Morris-Nunn and businessman Douglas Armati came up with a proposal several years ago to establish a fund or company that would work with super funds to facilitate such investment.
