Hi Everyone,
Some of you may have seen this selectively written piece from the Examiner, as the paper builds momentum for its ‘special publication’ to celebrate its 175th anniversary.
Readers were asked to vote on the top 20 news stories – presumably from a provided list – and it appears Gunns’ pulp mill saga came in at number 24. Surprised? Yes, so was I but on reflection I guess it could be argued the Ex readership is now so small, and probably doesn’t include a large swathe of folk who stopped reading/buying it due to the bias in its reporage of the issue. So perhaps this vote isn’t a truly accurate representation of the pulp mill’s status as a significant story.
An interesting choice of photo too, don’t you think? He’s unlikely to look quite so smug now I feel.
Cheers …
