Friday Nights Live, the Moonah Arts Centre’s regular concert series winds up its 2017 program tomorrow , with one of Tasmania’s foremost Jazz ensembles – The Modern Operative – joined by silky, jazz vocalist, Mia Palencia.

Come and enjoy this outstanding 10 piece jazz ensemble, led by the twinkling tones of keyboardist Kelly Ottaway and his partners in crime, Spike Mason – Alto/Soprano, Al Dobson -Alto/Tenor, Mitch Ellis – Tenor, Danny Healy – Bass Clarinet/Flute, Les Johnston – Trombone, Tim Jones – Tuba, Nick Parish – Guitar, Nick Haywood – Bass & Alf Jackson – Drums.

Joining them is one of the most experienced jazz vocalists going around – Mia Palencia. Mia Palencia launched her luminous career in the Malaysian music scene at the age of 14 but has called Hobart home since 2010. She recently completed her seventh album live with the ABC jazz studios in Melbourne.
