Walk the Night is the first single from the debut album for EWAH & The Vision of Paradise. The album is due for release in February 2017, but this pre-album release will give peeps a good idea of what’s ahead.
The songs from the album explore landscapes of beaches, dunes, bushland and suburban streets – the kind of territory explored and known intimately in childhood. These familiar settings are skewed with stories of disturbing violent crimes taken from newspaper headlines, anecdotal accounts and stories imagined in response to place.
Walk the Night tells the story of a mother who met with foul play late one night in summer and never made it home to her children tucked up safely in bed. Instead she is doomed to exist in an in-between world where she must walk the night.
EWAH & The Vision of Paradise launch their new single this Friday 21 October in the intimacy – ooh-er – of The Kissing Room at The Grand Poobah, Hobart. Also on the bill are psyche surf rock kids Spiral Kites and the sugar bam bam punk pop (do-you-like-me-cuz-I’m-kinda-into-you) of trio Ghost Drop.
Then the cherry to pop on top, DJ Popsie Cool (aka Mum from Mum and Dad) is gonna get your dance pants moving. Rad.
First 15 through the door get a free vintage postcard with a digital download of Walk the Night. Doors from 8.30pm.
