Southern Waste Solutions are currently in discussion with the Environment Protection Authority regarding the disposal of waste and debris created as a result of the flood activity throughout Tasmania.
The discussion is likely to result in an offer to accept waste and debris at a discounted charge from organisations who are charged with the clean up as a result of the floods, similar to the undertaking as a result of the 2013 Dunalley bushfires.
Southern Waste Solutions can also report the facility has had no adverse impacts as a result of the heavy rains, with all leachate contained within the site as per our risk mitigation strategy.
We will continue to work closely with the Environment Protection Authority and should there be any further update, we will inform all stakeholders and the community as appropriate.
