Devonport Regional Gallery’s young members, the Droogs, present the Four 8 Film Festival from 4th to 7th March, a challenging weekend of writing, shooting and editing short films.
Do you think you have what it takes to make a great short film in 48 hours? If so, get a group of friends together and take part! Participants are encouraged to register their interest online via the Galley’s website prior to the Festival weekend. The Festival is open to all ages, state-wide.
All participating teams must write, shoot and edit a film (maximum 4 minutes) in just 48 hours. Teams must consist of a maximum of five people. Teams will be provided with a theme and prop to use in their film at the Festival Launch on Friday 4 March, 5.30 pm at Devonport Regional Gallery; commencing the 48 hour period.
Completed films must be submitted to the Gallery by 5.30 pm on Sunday 6 March. All films submitted by the 48 hour deadline will be screened at CMAX Devonport on Monday 7 March, 6 pm. Film-makers will be judged on how they best interpret their theme and prop.
The screening is a public event and everyone is invited to attend and support local artists and filmmakers. Entry is $5 per person aged 16 and over (under 16 free).
“We love this festival! There is nothing like a tight deadline to make a creative project come to life. The best thing about it is that teams can be incredibly creative with their theme and prop, which makes for an interesting and entertaining evening at the Festival screening.” – Kim Prunster, member of the Devonport Regional Gallery’s Droogs
