Ivy League Records is over the moon to announce that The Rubens’ single ‘Hoops’ has come in at #1 in this year’s Hottest 100.

This marks the third time the band has placed in the iconic yearly countdown, with previous singles ‘Lay It Down’, ‘Don’t Ever Wanna Be Found’ and ‘My Gun’ all finding a spot on the shortlist in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

The band said of the latest result:

“Forever grateful to everyone who voted for us in the Hottest 100! We love you all. And a huge thank you to triple j for devoting themselves to Australian music and making all of this possible”

The Rubens continue to build on the success of their sophomore album Hoops with the release of their new single ‘Hold Me Back’, which has been a fixture in the triple j top 20 most played for the past two weeks. You can check out the brand new video for HMB right here.

It’s been a hell of a ride for The Rubens since the release of Hoops and it’s only the beginning as the band head over state side to launch the release of the album in the USA (4 March USA, 20 May UK/Rest of the world).
