Make Your Mark: Death explores the transient nature of life and certainty of death in a series of six workshops during the summer holidays, culminating in an exhibition at Mersey Bluff. Participants will discuss and explore the theme of death and create a piece of ephemeral art within this theme. Devonport’s popular Mersey Bluff will be used as the basis for the artworks and materials used in the workshop series; particularly referencing and using the coastline’s natural materials as a link to the broad theme of death and decay.
This project is part of the Make Your Mark: Death youth initiative of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. and MI Fellowship delivered in partnership with Devonport City Council. This activity has been funded by the Australian Government’s Better Access to Palliative Care in Tasmania Programme, through the Tasmanian Association for Hospice and Palliative Care ‘Networking End of Life Care’ Project.
