The Government has been upfront and acknowledged the dry conditions that Tasmania has experienced in recent months.

There is no doubt this will be a difficult year for Hydro because of the dry conditions.

We have every confidence in Hydro’s capacity to manage these circumstances.

Hydro has over 100 years of experience in managing these types of conditions and I am confident they will continue to do it well and in the best interests of Tasmania.

Hydro has made it quite clear that there is more than enough energy to meet Tasmanian demand despite the dry conditions and even in circumstances where dry conditions were to continue.

We expect Hydro to be prudent and vigilant and that is exactly what is happening.
