Shadow Education Minister Michelle O’Byrne welcomes additional resources for Child and Family Centres but said it shows how hypocritical the Liberal Government is.
“When Labor announced we would build two new Child and Family Centres in the next term of government, the Liberals ridiculed the idea,” Ms O’Byrne said.
“Now they’re admitting the centres built by Labor are working very well and could benefit from additional resources.
“Labor will always support additional investment in early years education, we are proud of our legacy in this area, especially when it comes to Launching Into Learning and Child and Family Centres.
“The Government should ensure the provision of other key family service support agencies on site.
“Today’s announcement does not make up for the Liberals’ harsh cuts across our public schools, but it is welcome.”
