Hear how an isolating disease, one man’s last wish and a small community create the largest ever to date community-based fundraiser for the Leukaemia Foundation in Tasmania.

November has seen the culmination of a promise, a wish and a continuing legacy for the Malkin family. The inaugural “Phil’s Dive for a Cure” held at Waubs Bay on the pristine north-east coast of Tasmania was an overwhelming success, raising in excess of $35,000.

Little did they know, they would create an event that attracted not only local or statewide attention, but national support. One man can make a difference, and one family can ensure his legacy will live on.

It is with humble hearts the Malkin family will be presenting a cheque to Stephanie Hechenberger, General Manager Vic/Tas, Leukaemia Foundation and thanking sponsors, friends and volunteers at a Morning Tea on Monday, November 30th at the Leukaemia Foundation Headquarters.
