The Hodgman Liberal Government is taking Tasmania to the world to unlock economic opportunities and encourage investment that will create Tasmanian jobs.
Today, it’s my pleasure to welcome a high-powered delegation from Indonesia on behalf of the Government.
The delegation includes representatives from the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry and the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate and diplomats from the Indonesian Consulate in Australia.
Strengthening our ties with Indonesia is incredibly important. That’s why the Minister for State Growth, Matthew Groom, had a number of key meetings in Indonesia as part of his recent trade mission to China. This included a jointly-hosted function at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta with key Indonesian stakeholders in the maritime, education and food sectors.
The Government continues to promote our competitive strengths in agriculture and premium produce, energy, education, tourism and advanced manufacturing to the region, including Indonesia, and this visit by an Indonesian delegation shows that the region is taking notice.
The Government looks forward to further trade delegations from Indonesia and other countries in the region and we are working hard to seize the opportunities this renewed interest in Tasmania represents.
