The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association notes the sale of the Triabunna wharf.

“We understand the government’s need to maximise returns on State assets, nevertheless this decision does nothing to resolve the significant issue of forest residues in the south of the State,’’ TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said.

“This roadblock to the market continues to impede the recovery of the forest industry in Tasmania. TFGA will be discussing the issue with the government as a matter of urgency.

“The forest industry has been patient in awaiting a resolution to the residues issue, however time is running out for both the State and the industry.”
