On behalf of the Opposition, Labor Leader Bryan Green has congratulated outgoing Electoral Commissioner, Julian Type, on his outstanding service to democracy in Tasmania.

“I’ve known Julian for a long time and he’s done an excellent job in a very important role,” Mr Green said.

“He’s been a very steady hand at the helm since taking over as Commissioner in 2011.

“Elections can be stressful times, especially for those running, but Julian has maintained a cool head during some very tense situations.

“I wish him all the best in retirement.”
