Today’s latest scare campaign and threats of industrial action by the real Opposition, the unions, is disappointing but not surprising.

With the supposed Opposition missing in action, the union movement has taken it upon themselves to daily try and fill the void with mistruths and distortions.

The particular claims they make today are again wrong – in fact, the caseload in the North is the lowest in the state, at an average of 12 cases per worker.

This matter has also been to the Industrial Commission and a way forward agreed, with both parties due to return to the Industrial Commission later in October.

As the unions themselves acknowledge, caseloads have been an issue for 10 years but they’ve strangely stayed mute until a Liberal Government was elected.

Unlike the former Labor Green government, we’ve initiated a complete redesign of the child protection system to try and fix these long-standing issues, led by independent Professor Maria Harries.

Prof Harries will unveil the new child protection system within six months.
