23RD – 25TH OF JANUARY 2016
+ Early Arrival on the 22nd of January
Held in the picturesque valley of Jackeys Marsh, beneath the Great Western Tiers, Marshmelody is a brand new sustainable, solar powered music and arts festival for the whole family, showcasing wild, original entertainment, fresh local and organic produce and outstanding boutique Tasmanian beverages.
Next to transportation, energy generation is the highest direct contributor to carbon emissions for most festivals and events. Marshmelody has chosen to meet this challenge head on and will be powering the entire festival on renewable, solar energy. Their solar system is capable of powering all the audio and lighting requirements of the festival, with solar panels collecting energy from the sun and storing it in battery banks for use during both the day and night. Marshmelody hopes to inspire other events within Tasmania and abroad to consider making their next challenge 100% renewable energy.
“Marshmelody is my dream festival! The location is beautiful and there will be stacks of fantastic entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.” – Bridget Nicklason-King Co-director
As well as a full entertainment program of local and interstate music Marshmelody will feature a great kids area, brilliant circus and comedy acts, a market place and much more.
