Sixty people drummed and chanted at today’s protest in London, calling ‘Corporate Criminal, Shame on you!’ at executives entering the AGM and heckling two men dressed as Vedanta Chairman and 69.6% owner Anil Agarwal and CEO Tom Albanese who staged a boxing match.

In Odisha, India, 2000 adivasis (indigenous), farmers and dalits protested in Muniguda demanding that Vedanta’s Lanjigarh refinery is decommissioned.

The Observer newspaper yesterday published a major expose of Vedanta’s continual pollution of rivers in Zambia: http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2015/aug/01/vedanta-zambia-copper-mining-toxic-leaks

Demonstrations took place in the Zambian copperbelt and Lusaka yesterday.

22 people were arrested in Delhi today at a demonstration outside the RBI headquarters warning public banks not to loan to or invest in Vedanta.

Other demos took place in Hyderabad, Udaipur, and Korba in India.
