On the weekend (30-31 May 2015), it was revealed that five detectives from WA, including senior Major Crime investigators, had been stood aside from duty and another four officers are facing disciplinary action over a botched murder investigation. A Detective Superintendent (the head of the Major Crime Division) and a Senior Sergeant are among the officers under scrutiny.
