History repeats … Margiris, renamed Abel Tasman, was banned from Australian waters by Labor …

TT published this background to Pelagic fishing some two years ago ( Here ).

The two-year ban is now over and a new set of political spivs are in charge of our destiny, doling out the permits.

With Labor out of office those whose allegiance to big business is easily swayed have gifted permits to the previous applicants and operators – destruction of the fishery by foreigners is now about to commence.

This is no different to logging permits – the fishing right is a financial reward to those who support a pollie of a political colour and have paid their dues.

Hodgman, Where are you and your Tasmanian Libs?

The big boys in Canberra pull your strings.

We all know it. Develop some backbone and for once stand up for what is right rather than politically expedient.

This is a very fishy business and the smell of corruption is much in evidence.
