The travelling Dutch ‘tent of mirrors’ is about to fling open its salon doors to Tasmanian audiences
for a second year running, with 25 jam packed days filled with circus, comedy, cabaret and burlesque
performances, family fun and the very best of Australian and international musical talent.
The Spiegeltent is brought to Tasmania by Ten Days in association with Strut & Fret Production
House as part of the 2015 Tasmanian International Arts Festival, and in a first for Tasmania, a
selection of Spiegeltent performers will be stepping out of the tent to entertain audiences in
Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.
Artistic Director David Malacari said the Spiegeltent would play host to 34 different shows from 5-29
March 2015, and outside the tent, the free Outdoor Lounge would provide Tasmanians and visitors
with a wonderful alfresco dining experience.
“We are very excited to welcome the Spiegeltent back after its successful debut in 2014 when over
16,000 people streamed through the mirrored doors to experience the theatrical magic,” Mr
Malacari said.
“Kicking off the Hobart Spiegeltent season in style will be a free opening night party open to all, on
Thursday, 5 March from 5pm, featuring sneak previews of Spiegeltent acts as well as fine Tasmanian
produce and beverages to enjoy in the Outdoor Lounge.”
