Spiegeltent Hobart 2014

Following its successful debut in Hobart in 2014, the tent of mirrors adorned with velvet, canvas and
leaded glass will again astound Tasmanian audiences in just one week, with a stunning line-up of
over 150 international, national and Tasmanian performers.

The Spiegeltent, proudly brought to Tasmania by Ten Days in association with Strut & Fret
Production House as part of the 2015 Tasmanian International Arts Festival, was a smash hit with
crowds last year, selling over 16,000 tickets and reaching half-a-million dollars in ticket sales at the
box office.

Ten Days Artistic Director David Malarcari said the Spiegeltent would again be erected on the
forecourt of Princes Wharf No.1 for 25 days of dazzling entertainment and fun from 5-29 March,
featuring an exciting array of comedy, cabaret, music, circus, burlesque as well as family friendly fun.

“In a Tasmanian first, a selection of Spiegeltent performers will also be stepping out of the tent to
entertain audiences in Launceston, Devonport and Burnie as part of the festival’s Spiegel Sideshow
program,” Mr Malacari said.

“Kicking off the Spiegeltent program in style is a free community opening extravaganza on Thursday,
5 March from 5pm, featuring an evening of enchanting entertainment including Silent Disco, The
Dead Maggies, DJ No ReGrets, Dean Stevenson & the Rock Drop, a shadow booth from the Terrapin
Puppet Theatre, a sampling of highlights from internationally acclaimed circus ensemble Circa from
their show Beyond, plus an exclusive guest spot from singer – songwriter and sexy Irish chanteuse
Camille O’Sullivan.

“Partygoers can also sample the delights of the Outdoor Lounge, which will showcase fine
Tasmanian produce including scrumptious tacos from Mexican food truck Taco Taco, as well as
beverages from Jansz, Cascade, Domaine A, Stoney Vineyard, Dalrymple, McHenry and Sons
Distillery and Ritual Coffee.”

The opening night party is the chance of a lifetime to experience these acts for free and soak up the
Spiegeltent atmosphere, so make sure you get to the forecourt of PW1 early, as entry will be limited.
