The Liberal Government has a long-term Plan to grow the economy to create jobs and today’s ABS Housing Finance figures are another positive sign for Tasmania.
In the year to September 2014, the number of housing finance commitments for first homebuyers increased by 20.1 per cent compared to the same time 12 months earlier.
Overall the number of housing finance commitments increased by 6.9 per cent compared to the same time last year, with the value of commitments up 9.1 per cent over the same period.
Today’s figures come off the back of positive jobs growth, with around 3,000 jobs created since the March election, and business confidence the highest in the country.
It’s early days and there’s a long way to go, but the Liberal Government is committed to making Tasmania the state for people to live, work and invest and these positive indicators show we are on the right track.
