Liberal ministers have failed to answer whether crucial fixed term contracts will be renewed.
Labor Leader Bryan Green fears fixed term contracts will be terminated in addition to 861 permanent jobs cuts across the public service in the next 8 months.
“We got no answers at all from the Liberal Government,” Mr Green said.
“All the Liberals want to do is blame others for matters they are now responsible for.
“We’re talking about critical positions in the public service, including child protection workers and child and family health nurses.
“The question is simple, are they going to be renewed or not?
“And will discontinued contracts be counted within the target for job cuts? We believe they won’t be.
“The combination of contracts that aren’t renewed and permanent job losses will have a devastating effect on service delivery.
“The Liberals are very good at blaming others but whether they like it or not, they’re in government now.
“Labor will keep asking questions to try and reveal exactly what the Government has in store for public services.”
