The Liberal Government is a strong supporter of the arts in Tasmania.

Tasmanian arts organisations play a critical role in the development of creative product and artistic talent in Tasmania. They provide jobs, encourage tourism and deliver mechanisms for the community to engage with the arts.

The Liberal Government is committed to supporting arts organisations, and I am pleased to announce that Expressions of Interest are now open for Arts Tasmania’s new Organisations Investment Program.

The Organisations Investment Program supports arts activities that employ professional arts practitioners and engage the community in arts activities.

Arts activities can include exhibitions, plays, concerts, festivals, literary magazines, publications, industry development, audience development or community cultural development projects.

The revamped program means for the first time organisations can submit an Expression of Interest before making a full application, reducing the upfront work and freeing them up to focus on the artistic idea behind their proposal.

The Organisations Investment Program includes two categories: Partner arts organisations for multi-year funding of up to four years; and Invested arts organisations for annual program funding or project funding.

Expressions of Interest will be assessed by registered artform peers, along with relevant members of the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board or the Organisations Investment Panel.

Organisations whose Expressions of Interests are endorsed by assessors will be invited to make a full application.

Expressions of Interest close 15 February 2015. For further information visit: www.arts.tas.gov.au/newmodels
